The Day The Earth Stood Still

Link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0970416/

A bunch of us got together today to do birthday type stuff for the December birthdays. Part of it was going to see The Day the Earth Stood Still. The movie was OK, but I really do think it beat us over the head a little too much with its message.

I think Hollywood is remaking far too many movies. Now granted, I thought the 50s version was overrated (it was no Forbidden Planet or Invasion of the Body Snatchers) and Klatu was very hypocritical (trying to make us be peaceful on the threat of violence), but I seriously doubt a remake would alleviate its problems without creating new ones.
