Saw this on one of the lists I read, found the Snopes page that confirms it. All I can say is wow.

Here's a little different peice on Ernesto 'Che' Guevara. Still want to wear that t-shirt after reading this?
Well, the Islamofascists have again demonstrated their courage by attacking women, children, and the elderly. This time it was in London. It's a real shame as I've been through the Kings Cross station a few times and am slightly familiar with the area. Those people did nothing to deserve this and soon enough the West is going to get fed up with these subhumans. What's going to happen when we "spare no method" to attack them as they gloat that they are doing?
Happy Independence Day everyone!

This was taken from SCOTUSblog:
In a 7-2 decision, the Court ruled that local governments have no constitutional duty to protect from private violence an individual who is shielded by a court's restraining order. Such individuals do not gain an enforceable interest in that protection, the Court declared in an opinion by Justice Scalia. The case was Town of Castle Rock v. Gonzales (04-278).
So basically, don't expect the cops to help you out when your estranged husband kidnaps your children and ultimately kills them. That restraining order doesn't mean a thing to them.

Read R.F. Burton's letters.

I just got an e-mail from a friend in Galveston about the BP Amoco plant in Texas City that just exploded. He's OK, they're all in shelters now. The news reports haven't said what kind of chemicals were involved, but if it's a gasoline refinery I'll bet that gas prices here in DFW will jump by tomorrow morning.

It looks like the telephone and cable companies doing business in Texas have flexed their muscles and introduced a bill to ban municipalities from providing wireless data networks. Take a look at the Save Muni Wireless for some more info. This is stupid and a waste of the Texas Legislature's time. When we still don't have a school financing plan worked out we don't have time to waste on making SBC, Verizon, and Comcast richer.
The results are in and we won the voting for beer and wine sales and getting rid of the private club system to serve alcohol in restaurants. I'm going to go out and have a beer tomorrow to celebrate.
I went to the municipal annex today and cast my vote for beer and wine sales. The official voting date is February 5, so we won't know the results for a week or so, but I'm hoping that it passes.
