I’ve decided to get rid of all of the wall to wall carpeting in the house and have started with what we call the useless room. It’s a strange open space downstairs that only has two walls and is surrounded by laminate flooring. I decided to put slate tiles down because eventually it’s going to get a pool table and that seemed like it would look good. I think I made the right decision because there was so much dirt under the carpet. It was pretty disgusting and if the rest of the carpeting is similar, this ought to do wonders for my allergies. The installation’s done and the grout’s drying now. It looks great, better than I thought it would, and later on in the week I’ll be putting laminate down in the library and the dining room.
What is the name of this slate floor?
It’s natural slate, I picked it out at the Home Depot Flooring Store. The brand that the installers used is Esmer Calibrated Earth in 12×12 tiles with a grey grout.
