My drama for the day was heading out to buy a new seat for the Sportster. I got a really good deal on a Badlander Seat.
Why drama you ask? Well because I locked my keys in the Jeep and had to fight with the dealership to get a new one cut. It took two tries because they cut the wrong key the first time. So my two hour trip to pick up a new seat ended up taking closer to six.

My Tread Lightly membership packet arrived today. They’re a non profit group that works to promote responsible use of the outdoors by everyone from hikers to OHV users like me. They’re funded by those of us who join and donate, so give them some of your money!
The printer came in today and I’ve got it set up so that I can print directly from my digital camera. And all I can say is WOW! They included 5 4×6 sheets of their Photo Paper Pro paper as a tease. I printed one of the photos from my recent .50 caliber rifle shooting trip and it’s indistinguishable from a 35mm print. I’m completely in awe of this printer and will be taking a lot more photos now that I’ve got a good way to print them. I’ll test an 8.5 x 11 print once I get out to buy some more paper.

I went to Texas Land and Cattle Steakhouse for lunch today and was really impressed with the food. I had the chicken fried steak and my friend had the smoked sirloin, both off of the lunch menu. I realized that made a mistake with my order after trying his steak and will be ordering it instead next time I go.
I got up way too early this morning to meet up with some other LSJC members for a Jeep-a-van to Barnwell Mountain for a day of wheeling and the Texas Motorized Trails Coalition general membership meeting.
We had a great time running trails like Omega, Desi Way, Twister, Binder, and Angry Jeep. I got away with only one bit of trail damage this time. It looks like a rock tried to take a chunk out of one of my sidewalls, but settled for the rim instead. Nothing serious, didn’t mess up the bead or hurt the tire at all. It’s just not pretty any more.

Today is the first day of POS/407 (Computer Programming II), which is going to start covering GUI programming, exceptions, and applets. I’m a little intimidated because all of my GUI programming has been done in C (X-windows) or Visual Basic. Both of them are extremely different animals that Java’s way of doing things. The readings are going to be vital during this class!
I decided to do one of the aerobics classes that the gym offers. That class really kicked my butt! But I will be back there again next week because it really gave me a good workout and the instructor was good enough to help me out when I started getting lost. It wasn’t nearly as bad as the aerobics classes that I tried before. With those you would have needed a decent background in dance in order to keep up! This was fun!
